To reduce student exposure outside their units, space changes will be extremely limited. Exceptions are made in case of emergency. Residents must work through roommate conflicts and are encouraged to follow the steps here. You can also work with the staff to help you. Residential Life and the Office of Student Conduct have partnered with a dispute resolution process for roommates. If you do not reach your goal in the following stages 1-4, you will be referred to the Student Conflict Management Program. If you do not see the 2020-2021 New Student link (October 21) and you are a first year spring or transfer student who paid the deposit, please contact Residential Life at email@example.com. How long did this problem last? Once you are identified, contact someone you trust, who can listen to you and help you. Check your roommate agreement which can help you identify the problem. You have the option to register in a room without a roommate. This often works better than with someone you already know or try to match online. Instead of finding someone like you, take a chance to find someone with a different perspective who can introduce you to new things and more friends.
We strive to meet the requests of roommates, but this is not always possible with space and restrictions. What we allow is to connect with several ways to meet and make your new best friends. Sometimes simple and harmless miscommunication can create tension. This is normal and can be handled with a direct conversation. Find a time for yourself and your roommate to discuss your concerns in a quiet, private space. Be respectful of each other and actively listen to find ways to learn more about your potential differences and trade-offs. We offer a small housing school experience at a first class public university. Our dedicated employees and teachers engage with students in building strong communities that enable personal development and academic success. Our six different residential neighbourhoods provide Bearcats with a home away from home that supports learning and growth.
With our new and recurring student residences, you have the opportunity to apply for a roommate or be coordinated with him. If you are looking for a roommate, you can fill out a personal profile and a questionnaire that tells your story, likes and dislikes. This allows all those who are looking for qualities that match their own. If you have in mind a roommate, a suite partner and/or an apartmentmate, you can ask for it during group formation if your accommodation process allows. Our housing information page contains instructions and videos that you follow by the operation of everything. If you need more assistance after the conversation, contact the Resident Assistant (RA), Resident Director (RD) or Assistant Residential Coordinator (ARC).
